The road to the waterfalls crosses the vast and diverse territory of the "Empire State" of New York. On the way, visits to the largest state cities are provided.
Syracuse. Back in 1570, the legendary leader Hiawatha chose this place as the capital of the Iroquois confederation. It is amazing, but it remains so in our time, with all the relevant institutions. The tour includes a visit to the Onondoga Tribal Museum. By the way, even a quarter of Indian blood makes it possible for the lucky owner to be part of the most privileged (by law!) And self-governing population of the United States.
This is followed by a cruise through the gateway of the famous Erie Canal to another significant city. Rochester has so many gardens, parks, flower beds and greenhouses that it is known in the country as Flower City, "Flower City". There are unique attractions here - for example, the estate of the father of cameras, George Eastman, with an extensive International Museum of Photography and Cinema. Another completely unusual one is the Games Museum, where the history of electronic games is revealed in detail, there is also the world's largest collection of toys, dolls, and even living butterflies. And Skansen already looks very colorful, where about a hundred old houses are collected from all over the area, where costumed inhabitants weave, spin, cobbler. There you can still ride in a hot air balloon and enjoy the beer brewed in the 1803 brewery, according to the then technology. Decorates Rochester and the Catholic Basilica of the Sacred Heart in neo-Gothic style.
The second largest city in the state is Buffalo. It is a large industrial and university center. Interesting museums: Naval Park with available exhibits: destroyer, missile cruiser, submarine, aircraft and helicopters; another museum - Transport - fascinating collections of cars, motorcycles, bicycles.
America, as you know, performs the function of a particularly advanced country in the most advanced area of economics - scientific and technological innovation. In Buffalo, the Laser Energy Laboratory is available for visiting, where research is being carried out on thermonuclear fusion, the most promising direction in alternative energy.
Buffalo is a beautiful city: the waterfront of the Great Lake Erie is especially good. Remarkable Neo-Romanesque Corpus Christi Catholic Church. A significant attraction is the complex of houses of Darwin D. Martin, built by the brilliant, most prominent American architect Frank Lloyd Wright. This is one of the best examples of the "Prairie style", the main achievement of the architect, a pronounced national genre. The complex of Martin's houses, masterfully surrounded by man-made landscape, makes a strong impression with its inner harmony. Actually, all the works of F.L. Wright have a strong positive psychological impact - but, I repeat, the Martin complex is especially impressive.
If it is legitimate to divide tourism into urban (purely urban) and natural landscape tourism, then, it must be admitted, the latter wins a lot in comparison. There are special places where a person feels a deep primal delight, fascinated by the power of the true beauty of the elements. In simple terms, it clearly shows how the hand of God creates. This is the Niagara Falls, Grand Canyon, Monument Valley, Desert of Colors, giant sequoia groves and all the National Parks of America. Here, much depends on the ability of managers to optimally organize optimal access to all the splendor. A miracle has recently been created in the Grand Canyon - a glass platform, outstanding "from the shore" in " and among tourists, although with a chill, but sweetly, the heart stops. Because everyone understands: a touch on Eternity has just taken place. and among tourists, although with a chill, but sweetly, the heart stops. Because everyone understands: a touch on Eternity has just taken place.
And, of course, you can not only swim nearby, but also fly around the waterfalls in a helicopter. It is even better to visit the Cave of the Winds attraction: a walk along the boardwalk between the waterfalls and along the glazed passage behind the waterfalls (!) There is also Goat Island, where Nikola Tesla conducted his experiments, which many people consider mystical and ahead of time. Why, in a place like this! There is also a wax museum and two cinemas (one of them is 4-D), recreating the history and attempts to conquer the waterfalls. And here they also visit a real fortress with casemates of the 18th century - a "living" museum, where guides in old clothes and uniforms with muskets revive the past, bringing it closer to us like a zoom in a camera.
For thrill-seekers, a 1-hour river rafting (below the waterfalls, there are still many rapids and whirlpools) on a jet speedboat is offered. You can choose an open or closed boat, rafting on the first of them is called "wet cruising".
A large difference in the height of a wide and deep river caused the appearance of a cascade of hydroelectric power stations. America is a very open country, even now, after the 9/11 tragedy. "Power Vista" ("Energy Panorama") is an educational center with a tour of the power plant, turbine hall, with a visit to a magnificent observation deck.
This is how the most complete journey to the region looks like, which includes the greatest, I would say, "achievement" of nature in the science of beauty - aesthetics.
